“Beta, doctor ban rahe ho na?”
You’ve heard it a hundred times. Relatives, neighbours, that one uncle who won’t stop comparing you to someone who got into AIIMS.
Here’s what nobody tells you. In NEET 2025, 22.76 lakh students registered. MBBS seats? About 1.18 lakh. That’s 1 seat for every 19 students. And only 12.36 lakh even cleared the cutoff.
So if MBBS doesn’t work out, or if you just don’t want it, are you stuck?
No. Not even close. PCB career options opens at least 15 solid career paths. Some need NEET. Many don’t. Some pay better than what a fresh MBBS graduate earns.
This article gives you all 15. No filler. Just the career, the course, the salary, and what the job actually looks like.

What is PCB?
PCB = Physics, Chemistry, Biology. You picked it in Class 11 because you like biology more than maths.
PCM takes you toward engineering and tech. PCB takes you toward medicine, pharma, biotech, environmental work, and allied health.
One thing to get out of your head right now: PCB does not equal doctor. It means you understand living systems. What you do with that knowledge is your choice. You could end up in a forensic lab, a biotech startup, a wildlife sanctuary, or a sports rehab centre.
